Here's what changes the price: the door's width and height, whether it's steel, wood, or an insulated panel, what kind of spring system it runs (torsion bar over the opening or extension springs along the tracks), and how old the hardware is.
Most of the housing stock in this area went up between 1938 and 2001, with a lot of it clustered in the 1960s and 70s. That matters more than people think. A door from that era often has original hardware that nobody stocks new anymore, which means a repair can turn into a full hardware swap once we're actually looking at the track and rollers. We won't know which situation you're in from a phone call.
What we can price without a visit: a service call to diagnose a noise, a stuck door, or a dead opener. What we can't price sight unseen: a broken spring on a door we haven't measured, a bent track, or a full replacement where you want a specific panel style. Work We Turn Down
We work on residential garage doors and openers, springs, cables, tracks, rollers, panels, and the drive units that lift them. That's the job.
We don't guess at a quote for storm or impact damage we haven't seen in person; a bent track can look minor and turn out to need a full section replacement, and pricing that blind isn't fair to you. We also won't tell you a repair is worth it when it isn't. On a door built during the older wave of construction around here, a cracked panel or worn-out torsion spring on hardware pushing past its expected life is sometimes a sign to replace the unit rather than patch it again, and we'll say so instead of running up a repair bill.
Winters here fall into a cold, severe climate band, and that's real weight on a garage door system, steel contracts, lubricant thickens, springs lose tension faster in the cold. We take that seriously when we're diagnosing a problem, but we're not going to invent a weather event or a specific incident to sell a job. If your door needs a part we don't have on the truck, we'll tell you the lead time instead of pretending it's in stock.

Can you give me a price over the phone?
For a service call or diagnostic visit, yes, roughly. For a spring repair, track repair, or replacement, no, we need to see the door's size, spring type, and condition first. A number given without that is a guess, and we'd rather give you a real one.
Why does my door's age matter for pricing?
A lot of homes here were built between 1938 and 2001, and older hardware often isn't made anymore. What looks like a simple spring swap can turn into replacing the whole torsion system if the parts on your door are obsolete, so age changes what we can quote up front.
Do you work outside Oshkosh proper?
Yes, we cover towns out to roughly 20 miles from our shop on Murdock Ave, including Neenah, Winneconne, Menasha, Omro, and several other nearby communities. Call ahead if you're near the edge of that range so we can confirm.
What won't you quote sight unseen?
Storm or impact damage, bent tracks, and full replacements where you want a specific panel or insulation option. Those need eyes on the door because the actual damage or spec changes the number more than anything we could estimate by phone.
